You are responsible for knowing the following information. Ignorance of our terms is not an excuse for violation.

All commission invoices are sent with a link directly to this page.

This information can best be read on a desktop view rather than mobile.

The Custom Commissions Terms of Service Password is located on this page. Please read carefully and you should find and be able to answer it easily. You will need it to be considered for a custom commission. Custom forms that do not answer it will not even be considered. However, we do make the forms editable to correct mistakes.

General Commissioning and Product Policies:

 

  • You must be 18 or older to commission

    • Proof of ID must be shown before a PayPal invoice is sent.​

    • Personal Information may be blacked out but we must see a legal name and birthday.

    • If you are a minor and would like a commission, the process must go through a legal guardian.

    • We will always use a preferred name when communicating, but we do need your legal name provided.

  • We do not accept trades in replacement of payment.​​

    • You may offer to trade prior to filling out a commission form, but we will mostly likely decline due to the costs of materials and labor involved.​

  • We have the right to refuse service with no given reason.

  • A Custom Commissions Request Form provided by us must be completed to be considered. 

    • In order to commission, we provide a Google form to be filled out. Since 2020, we have used a waitlist form. That form will remain open until we receive a certain amount of workload requested. We are setting boundaries this year to not overload ourselves going further. 

    • Unless it is through our Etsy, all commissions, no matter the size, must go through our form for our records.

  • We have the right to cancel a commission if the TOS is violated. If we cancel due to a TOS violation, buyer will receive a partial refund and what work we have completed. Please see the refund section to see extended details.

  • Your commission slot and queue placement is not secured until we receive a down payment. 

  • Upon down payment and slot confirmation, we will have your commission completed in 7 months time, unless specified otherwise in the PayPal invoice. We will not be accepting a commission if it cannot fit in our queue and be completed within 7 months unless discussed and approved by buyer.

    • If a situation arises on our side where we cannot complete it within 7 months, we will notify the buyer as soon as possible to discuss future plans.

  • We do not accept deadlines although we will try to meet them. We want to make quality work, not rushed work.

    • That being said, if you have an event or a situation (such as USA military deployment), please inform us immediately. We are usually more than happy than try to make some adjustments so you receive your product before your situation comes around.

    • Although we will try to complete your commission so you may use it for a convention, we do not promise deadlines. 

    • Please realize how long it can take items to be made. It normally takes us 3-10 weeks to gather materials and supplies. We have yet to not complete an order in a timely manner, however, life can happen and we are not a machine. Please be patient with us and we will do our very best to communicate with you! If you are not a patient individual, our business may not be for you.

  • We now offer a RUSH ORDER option. 

    • The fee is 50% of the labor costs of a product. ​

      • Example: A normal medium pair is $100. A rushed order medium pair would be ~$145.​

    • Ordering a rush fee on an order does NOT guarantee meeting a deadline. 

    • If we cannot meet the desired deadline, the rush fee portion of the invoice will be refunded

    • Large orders that include claws/spikes will still be subject to the 4-8 weeks it takes for custom materials to come in from DreamVisionCreations. The only way to avoid this is to select from our on-hand inventory of claws and spikes. 

  • We hold the right to work on projects in our queue in whatever order we would like. 

  • Buyer must provide 2 reliable communication sources. We will no longer accept commission forms that only provide one means of communication. Accepted sources of communication go as such:

    • Email

    • FB Messenger, ONLY through our page. We will not be communicating through our personal accounts.

      • If you want to communicate through this, you must message us first. Our settings are set so our page may not send  a message request. Please do not hesitate to use this means of communication though because it is our fastest communication tool. ​

    • Telegram App

      • This is our second best means of communication. It is a cell phone application that is great for quick private messaging. ​

    • Twitter DM

    • If this is a legal guardian for a minor, this is applies to you as well.

    • Unless circumstances arise, we do not communicate through phone numbers. 

  • For scalemail commissions, buyer will always be communicating with Clair McEldowney. General social media questions are sometimes answered by her significant other, Michael Kukulka. However, he does not communicate with clients on the queue.  

    • If you are not speaking to us, then you have the wrong business. We do not give permission to others outside of JayeCreations to be using our photographs/names.

    • Our images are not permitted to be edited or used for monetary gain, and we require those who want to use our images to properly credit and contact us prior to posting.

  • All spikes we use are rubber, and claws are resin from Dream Vision Creations. We take no credit for their beautiful craftsmanship. http://dreamvision-creations.myshopify.com/

    • We do not make our own spikes or claws, please do not request us to make some.

    • Recently, we make a scaled dragon head - all of the resin materials used on that was made by them but assembled by us. 

  • For scalemail products: all scales are from www.theringlord.com . We highly recommend this manufacturer for any chainmaille products!

  • The current available commission items are as follows:

    • Gauntlets - Small to XL​

    • Clawed Finger Extensions on Large and XL Gauntlets

    • Tails - Small to XL

    • Keychains and Drawstring Bags

  • We do not offer Dragon Heads. Our one partial was for personal interest and experimentation. 

    • As of December 2020, we made one additional dragon head that went and sold immediately at auction. If we make anymore, we do not have any definitive dates on their completion.

    • We currently have no plans of making more in the future due to time and resource constraints.

  • We are not responsible for any damage done to products once they have shipped. If there is a problem with your product when you open it from the package, contact us and the post office immediately.

    • JayeCreations is not liable for any damage to or caused by our products. These items are for indoor costume use only. Please see our Care and Maintenance page for details on how to take care of your items.

    • Our items are not made for Live-Action-Role-Play or any kind of extreme actions/sports. These are indoor costume usage only. 

    • Buyers are responsible for all shipping costs. We will not ship an item that is not properly and fully insured via mail carrier. 


 

Payments and Refunds:

 

  • Unless we are at a convention or meeting in person, all payments must be through the invoice system on PayPal. Money orders and cash/checks through the mail is not accepted.

    • You are responsible for your own account and knowing how PayPal operates. We do not provide assistance as it is not our account or service. Please contact PayPal if you are experiencing difficulties. ​

    • We do not accept payments outside of the invoice. If you are in a payment plan, be sure you are paying within the invoice and not straight to our account.

  • We do not negotiate on our prices. Please do not ask for a discount.

    • If we were to offer a discount, it would be announced.

  • You are eligible for a payment plan if your grand total is $100 or above.

    • If you opt in for a payment plan, please limit it to larger payments.​

      • do NOT make 20 payments of $5, instead make 1 payment of $100, etc. We get a fee from PayPal every time a separate transaction is made, which we do not bill to you. ​

  • Payments must be made on time unless prior arrangements have been made and are included on the PayPal invoice.

    • We are usually pretty relaxed on payments once the down payment is received, however, we highly appreciate information and updates regarding when you will be paying off the rest of your commission.

    • We will not ship out your product until everything is paid off in the invoice.

  • A 30% non-refundable down payment is due upon commissioning. The rest, including shipping, must be paid off before we ship the product. This will not be refunded.

    • This 30% payment will secure your commission slot. We do not hold slots when open for commissions. Although you may fill out the commission form and receive a PayPal invoice, your slot and placement in our queue is not determined until we receive the down payment. ​

    • If you have a pending PayPal invoice with us that has not had any payment made to it and our commission slots fill, we will cancel the invoice. We wish you good luck next time! 

  • Refund Policy:

    • 0% Completed and materials have not been ordered = 100% Refund

    • 0% Completed and materials have been ordered= 70% Refund​​

    • 25% Completed = 30% Refund

    • 50%Completed = 20% Refund

    • 75%Completed = 10% Refund

    • Anything more will not be refunded.

    • We will ship to you what we have completed unless a different plan is agreed on.

    • We will hang on to your product for 2 months after completion, and if it is not paid off, we will cancel the commission, keep the finished product, refund any money that exceeded the nonrefundable 30% down payment, and resell the project.   ​

Terms of Service Password for Custom Commission Wait List 2024: Answer the Following:

  • What is your favorite season of the year? 

    • Please provide your own answer to the question for the password!​

    • Example: Our personal favorite season is autumn!  

  • Do not discuss the password or assist others. This is our way of knowing that custom commission request applicants are aware of our terms of service. 

  • Be sure to answer the question, not copy and paste our answer or the question.

Shipping:

 

  • We are located in Michigan, USA.

  • We only use USPS for domestic shipping unless requested otherwise. We have the right to refuse the request.

  • As of late, we are highly recommending international clients to use DHL shipping services, but they are more expensive to use. The few times we have used them, they ship very quickly and we can properly insure the package. USPS has a limit of $200 insurance.

    • Shipments to France, Germany, Australia, and some others are now via DHL only now.

    • If you want an item that is +$200, we highly recommend using DHL for shipping due to the insurance factor. If the local post offices lose a high value package, we cannot do anything about it except get a $200 refund check. We will not remake the package contents for free because it was lost and uninsured.

    • DHL International shipping fees (from what we've seen so far) range $100-300. This does not include customs fees. Please be prepared for those expenses. 

    • If you chose NOT to ship via DHL, we need it written in your invoice that you are forgoing your option to have a fully insured and protected package, and we are not responsible for anything past getting the max $200 refund from USPS and forwarding that back to you. 

  • We mark all international packages as merchandise; be prepared for custom charges.

    • It is illegal for us not to mark it as merchandise. 

  • Payment must be completed before we ship.

    • We fully insure the entire domestic package. That fee will be including in the shipping fee.

  • We are not responsible for items lost in the domestic mail. Although, we will insure your product completely, as it will be included in your shipping fee.

    • If an item is lost in the mail, please contact your local post office.​

    • Due to the material cost of these items, we cannot make free replacements. You are welcome to use the insurance money from USPS to automatically be added to our queue again for a replacement. â€‹

  • If the payment is via PayPal, we will be purchasing a domestic shipping label from PayPal to ship your items.

    • Once we purchase this label, PayPal should send you an email with your information. ​

  • If the order is for International and through PayPal, we will provided a photocopy of the DHL shipping receipt and tracking information the day we ship the item out. 

  • If a package is returned to us, we will make an attempt to contact the buyer. Buyer is responsible for paying additional shipping charges.

  • To give an idea on shipping costs, US domestic shipping will usually range from $15-60 for a single item. Multiple items are custom quoted. â€‹

  • We have no control over shipping prices. We do not profit from them.

  • After purchasing the shipping label, we will refund if we charged too much for shipping.
